1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Crispify (“Crispify”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Crispify iPhone app, its share extension, and the services behind them. By using Crispify you agree to them, along with our Privacy Policy, which explains what happens to your data. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Crispify.
You need to be at least 13 years old to use Crispify, or older if your country sets a higher age for using online services without a parent’s permission. If you’re under 18, check with a parent or guardian first.
2. The app license
The Crispify app is licensed to you under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to it. If they ever conflict about your license to use the app, Apple’s agreement wins.
3. Your account
- You can look around Crispify without an account. Importing recipes, and backing up your library, need a free account.
- You sign in with Apple or with your email address and a 6-digit code. Keep access to your Apple Account and your email secure, because anyone who can get into them can get into your Crispify account.
- Give us an email address that’s yours, and one account per person, please.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: on the Recipes tab, tap the person icon at the top right, then Delete account.
4. The free plan
Crispify is free to download. A free account gets 5 recipe imports a month, counted per account and per iPhone, starting over at the beginning of each month. An import that fails doesn’t count. Writing a recipe yourself or saving one from Discover isn’t an import. We may change the free plan in the future; we’ll say so in the app before a change affects you.
5. Crispify+ subscriptions
- What you get: Crispify+ gives you unlimited recipe imports.
- Plans: yearly or monthly. The App Store shows you the price in your currency before you buy. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Payment: Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. Apple handles all payments; we never see your card details.
- Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trial: if you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it turns into a paid yearly subscription. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends.
- Canceling and changing plans: on your iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Crispify. After you cancel, Crispify+ stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the app or your Crispify account doesn’t cancel the subscription.
- Refunds: Apple handles refunds under its own rules. You can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Price changes: if the price of your subscription changes, Apple tells you beforehand and, where the rules require it, asks you to agree.
- One Crispify account per subscription: a subscription belongs to the Crispify account that first used it. To use it, sign in with that account. Restore purchases is in your Profile and on the Crispify+ screen.
6. What you import and save
- Your stuff stays yours. You keep whatever rights you have in the recipes, notes and photos you add. You give us permission to store, copy, process and show them as needed to run Crispify for you, including sending imports to our AI providers as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You’re responsible for what you import. Only import things you’re allowed to use, for your own cooking. Crispify saves a recipe for you; it doesn’t give you the right to republish someone else’s recipe, photos or video.
- Respect the creators. Imported recipes keep a link to the original post, and the creator’s handle where the post shows it. Please leave the credit in place, and don’t pass someone else’s recipe off as your own.
- Discover recipes include recipes published by the USDA’s MyPlate Kitchen and the NIH’s Deliciously Healthy Eating, plus sample recipes. Crispify isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by the USDA or the NIH.
- Copyright concerns: if you think something in Crispify infringes your rights, email hello@crispify.app with the details and we’ll look into it promptly.
7. AI-made recipes: please read this one
- Imported recipes are written by AI from the post, page, photo or text you give it. AI can make mistakes: it can misread an amount, miss an ingredient, mishear a video, or guess wrong.
- Before you cook, check the amounts, the allergens and the cooking temperatures and times against the original, and use your own judgment about food safety.
- Nutrition numbers are estimates, not measured values.
- Allergy and diet filters are a help, not a guarantee. Magic Meal Plan’s filters work by matching ingredient names, and they can miss things. If you or someone you cook for has an allergy, always read the full ingredient list and the labels on the food itself.
- Crispify isn’t medical or nutrition advice. If you have health conditions, allergies or special dietary needs, talk to a doctor or dietitian.
8. Fair use
Please don’t:
- break the law, or use Crispify to infringe other people’s rights;
- try to get around the free-import limit or free-trial rules, for example with extra accounts or by resetting devices;
- scrape, overload, attack, probe or reverse-engineer our servers, or use bots or scripts to access Crispify;
- use Crispify to collect or republish other people’s content at scale, or to build a competing service;
- upload anything harmful, such as malware, or content that’s illegal or abusive.
If someone does, we may limit, suspend or close their account. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
9. Other people’s services
Crispify works with links from services like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Pinterest and recipe websites. We aren’t affiliated with them, we don’t control their content, and their own terms apply when you use them. Sign in with Apple and the App Store are run by Apple under Apple’s terms.
10. Changes to Crispify
We’re always working on Crispify, so features may change, and imports from a particular site can stop working if that site changes. We may also stop offering Crispify altogether. If we do, we’ll give you reasonable notice first. If you pay for Crispify+ and we stop the service, you can ask Apple for a refund.
11. Our responsibility
- We work hard to keep Crispify running and your recipes safe, but we provide it “as is”. We can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or right about every recipe.
- To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, or for losses caused by AI mistakes you could reasonably have caught by checking a recipe before cooking. Our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid for Crispify+ in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
- None of this limits rights you have that can’t be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer where you live, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
12. Ending things
You can stop using Crispify and delete your account at any time. These terms end when your account is deleted, except the parts that by their nature should carry on (such as sections 6, 11 and this one). If you live in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of your local consumer law, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change. If you keep using Crispify after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account and cancel your subscription.
